I have a 20G tank sitting in the garage that I had a freshwater set up at one time. I never had to medicate, but occasionally used an algae treatment. Do I need to worry about copper or any other chemicals? Should i be able to use this tank for a saltwater set up once I give it a good cleaning?

What would be the best way to clean it?

Thanks

You should be fine if you never used any copper based medication, to clean it just use warm water and a little bit of very mild soap, and rise alot, you should be fine, opps did I say that twice?? O well

Even if you used copper-based medications, it's improbable that a bare tank will have absorbed enough of it to cause a problem.

I wouldn't use any cleaners unless it's something simple, like pure non-anti-bacterial soap. Just plain water and a fresh, well rinsed sponge is safest. Avoid detergents and disinfectants. Household bleach is OK as long as you rinse throughly afterwards.
