Anyone using one of these? I just tried to fire mine up and after it pumps 3ml, I get an Occl Empty error light and the alarm goes off. How do I stop this? The tube and little inline container are both full. I turn it off and back on, it pumps 3 more mil and alarms!
It's a Compat Model #199235
Any ideas? Is there a way to disable this feature?
TIA

I use three different medical type dosing pumps. I do have a compat - I am not sure of the model number but they all pretty much work alike.
In terms of the tubing do not fill the drip chamber all of the way t the top. Only have it about 1/2 full.
Have you taken the tubing off of the machine and made sure that you have good flow through the tubing. I am sure you have but that would be my fist step.
What type of tubing are you using on it? If you have good free flow, My guess is that your tubing is too tight going around the wheel.
When I purchased mine I asked it Kangaroo feeding tubing worked with it and the seller said that it did. But it does not. The slots for the tubing to fit onto the machine are too large, so I have done a lot of adapting and I get it to work. My more frequent problem is the free flow alarm. Once I get this pump running it goes and goes until it breaks its tubing or I let the bucket run dry.
Good luck! Let me know if you are still having trouble. I am a former RN and I have used these thigns for years.

Thanks for the reply.
After fiddling with it awhile, I figured out that there seems to be some sort of drip sensor where it holds the tubing. If I blocked it with my finger I got a free flow alarm. The same thing happened when the water level in the little container (not sure what it's called) was above the sensors. When I positioned that container above the sensor so only drips went past, it worked. I think I have the wrong tubing set. I'm using Medline ENT70552. Do you know what set I shouild be using and if so where I can get them?
Thanks again

I do not know the right set to use. I saw another post of someone using this unit and I asked them what set they were using. If I find out I will let you know, as well.
There are drip sensors related to the drip chamber. But I have found if the tubing is too tight or too loose it will alarm.
What I am doing is using Kangaroo feeding pump tubing. THen I use some gauze on the drip chamber side to raise it up, and a plastic washer on the other side to keep it in place. Then once I get it running I do everyting I can to keep it runniing........ The other little problem I have it that the K water is hard on teh tubing and it causes it to break every couple of months or so. This often happens in the middle f the night or whenever. I would end up with water on the floor. I have the pump suspeneded over the top of the bucket so if the tubing breaks it goes back into the bucket.
Some times I think these things are more of a pain than they are worth. I am seriously thinking of switch over to a float switch however, I hear the nightmares about those, as well.

The problem with Compat's is that the "capsule" tends to creep down and not allow individual drips to interrupt the IR emitter/sensor light beam. Try raising the capsule so that the drip ONLY goes past the sensors.
One way to check if the pump electronics is at fault is to use your finger for the "drip". If the pump works fine then, the problem is that the capsule has creeped down. If it still alarms, one of the parts is burned out (IR emitter or receiver..
Good luck
