I was wondedring if anyone has had a successful experience with a Bicolor Dottyback (Pseudochromis) and Firefish. I have about 80lbs of rockwork with lots of caves for the firefish to hide if they are being picked on. I am especially worried due to the similar body types of the Dottyback and Firefish, and how extremely territorial the Dottybacks are amongst themselves. I fear that the Dottyback may mistake the firefish for one of his own. Might it work better if I were to get a couple of firefish? or should this not dare be attempted?
Thanks, Enline

[welcome]

the dottyback will not mistake the firefish as another dottyback, however, it will kill the firefish just the same. don't do it.

Hi Enline,
I have a bicolor dottyback wonderful fish, hardy and best coloured probably but very very agressive, he would easily kill a firefish cuz he killed my long nose hawk which was bigger then himself. Now i am not able to put any fish in my tank w/o thinking because he is established and he thinks the tank is his now
