Hi, I have a 20g long tank with heater, powerhead, glass-top, and Penguin mini bio-wheel for quarantining new fish as I begin stocking my 120g reef. I also have a Remora hang on tank protein skimmer, would it help or is it necessary to place this on the 20g tank while fish are in it?
Should I keep the Q tank temperature the exact same as my main tank? Finally, should I use RO/DI water for the Q tank, just like I do for the 120g? Thanks,

I've never bothered with a skimmer for a Q tank, but it can't hurt if you have it...so long as you remember to turn it off if you need to medicate.
I also like to keep the water conditions as close to the main tank as possible, but you don't have to get anal over a degree or two ;)

Hi:
i'm w/ Bill on this one, since your only keeping the fish in there for treatment the skimmer will work against you. I would skip the skimmer.
