I have 2 AquaClear 300 carbon packages in the first area of my sump. How often should I replace them?

i would not keep the same carbon in your tank for more then a week at at time.

you will get many different oppinions on how much and often carbon should be ran .

i personally run a small amount of carbon for about 5 days once a month. if you run carbon make sure its of good quality (something that wont leach phosphates)

You should leave them in for about a month. That is the recommended timeframe. Good Luck!

Black Diamond is one of the better carbons.

I only run carbon if I need to remove meds or polish the water, a couple of days to a week. More than that, and you risk elevating your nitrate levels.

The lifespan of even good carbon is not quite a month. Maybe the manufacturer, who is biased, over-exaggerated on their label. I wouldn't be surprised.

I've heard from three days to a month. I say no more than a week at a time. Just IMO.
