I recently bought a new setup from member jcato. And with the set up I got 2 very nice DIY skimmers-
1. A 36 inch Lifreef clone skimmer...I saw this skimmer working on jcato's 120 gallon and I was really impressed I just don't have the dedicated "fish room" that you need with a skimmer this large.
2. A 24 inch Lifereef clone...This is currently running on the 120 gallon right now. This skimmer fits under the stand and pulls off loads of the worst smelling stuff on earth!
Now my reason for wanting to get rid of the skimmers.....heat. With the submersible mag and my current lighting set up (250x2 + 430 vho) I'm running up around 81 degrees and I don't have the cash for a chiller. With out the skimmer running I'm staying @ 78. So it's out with the skimmer and in with the Miracle Mud and macro algae!
I don't have pics of the skimmers but I know jcato had some I'll try to get him to post some up on this thread.
Now I'm looking for best offers and will consider almost any reef related items/ livestock.
Thanks,
Clint
