new england sand

I live on the coast in CT and have access to as much beach sand as I can carry, does anyone know or have any experience with using this as substrate? Of course, I'd be mixing it about 50 /50 with live sand.

I wouldn't use long island sand if I were you! There has been so much sewage spilled in those waters in the last few years. Boat traffic is extremely heavy further polluting it and they still don't know why all the lobsters are dying. To be safe go to a home depot and get south down sand there is alot of it around right now.
