I think my chalk bass took the hide off himself after acclimating into my tank. I just got hime yesterday, and so far seems healthy and eating well. Not terribly shy, comes out and looks at me.
It looks like the hide has been taken of his side and near the gills. I just want to make sure that it isn't some sort of disease and that I am treating it in the right way.
I am putting 3 tsps of melafix in at night, then turning off my skimmer(it goes nuts) I was going to do that for 7 days as the directions say. I have a 30 gallon tank with an ocellaris, the chalk bass and a royal gramma.
Thanks for your help
