Hey i just added lots of caulerpa for RDP system.
I know that caulerpa gets rid of nitrates, phosphates, ect...
so i was wonderin, would diatoms show up less even if i use TAP water?
i have been using RO water, but i buy in gallons. it is a bit of trouble to get it everytime i do water changes.
SO HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS OUT THERE HAVE USED TAP WATER AND DID FINE???

JUST CURIOUS YA KNOW...

IS RO WATER A MUST????
( I DON'T WANNA BUY RO UNIT BY THE WAY)

it all depends on your water supply, some people have great water, some have sucky water.... why take the chance? Just use the ro or even better buy an ro/di filter.

In my area, tap water is fine. I have been using it for the last 16 years or so.

dkreef,

If your water is ok there's no problem using tap water. Check here, http://www.waterdata.com or call your local utility for a copy of the latest testing results. In my area ro/di is necessary but thats not the case for every place.
