Every morning, after I turn on the tank lights, my purple linkia goes over to the tongue coral, hops on, and goes back and forth on him. He then hops off, waits about an hour, and goes back on. This continues until the film has all been removed from the large tongue coral I have. The tongue coral doesn't seem to mind a bit since it never collapses like it does when other things touch it.
It appears that the starfish is actually eating the slime coat that slowly peels off the tongue coral in the morning. I found this interaction very interesting. Has anyone else observed something like this?
