To my fellow reefers with rose bulb anemones. I was wondering what kind of lighting, wattage and tank size you guys have. I have an 8 inch rose bulb with 400 12k sunburst bulb and 130 pc and the rose went to the back of the tank under the rocks. So I think my lighting is to intense.
thanks

My 8" rose bta hangs out about 5 inches from the surface of the water, directly under a 400W radium, and about 12" diagonally away from a 175W 10,000k bulb.

He's at his most expanded for the hours the 400W is on.

I think my intensity may be too low, since this BTA lost his bulbs the first week in the tank. He's grown quickly over the last month, but no sign of getting his bulbs back. The guy who grew this clone was keeping it under 250W DE 6500k and 400W radium.

I have four Rose BTA's. They reside in my 80 gal tank with 220 watts of actinic blues and 2-250w MH 10k Ushios.

180 gallon tank, T5 lighting, rBTA is like a foot across when fully expanded. Bulbs come and go, but mostly it's got nice bulbs. I think it's not the lighting, but who knows what. W/BTAs it's not necessarily about monster lighting. I've seen 'em very healthy in tanks w/relatively low light. You need good water conditions, regular feeding etc...

yep, I buy mediums, cut 'em into thirds, so about one shrimp a week or so.
