Have you ever caught a Mantis Shrimp?

Have you ever caught a mantis shrimp? If so..how did you
do it? If I set a trap and bait it...what is to keep my
hermit crabs from getting into the trap?

Yes. Did it by seeing which rock it went into. Took out the rock and flushed it out with tap water.

Tried two kinds of traps; caught everything but the mantis.

Same as joez - ya gotta find where he lives.

Mine lives in a 5 gal (jail) tank now. Put in 4 peppermints that had been in the main tank (they devastated the sand fauna) and the mantis had one for dinner Saturday night.

Ya I took the rock out where he was living be careful though because he will get you and it will hurt!
Anyway we started a 7 gallon nano around him.
