I picked up a few of these tonight from the surf created by Fabian going by a day or so ago.
They are Jellyfish I believe with a total diameter of 2 to 3 inches with a center (shiny shell like) disc of about 1 inch, surrounded by tenticles (purple colored) about a mm in dia and about 3/4 to an inch in length. Under the disc is a tan 1/4 inch of growth (maybe tenticles also). The purple tenticles lay on the top of the water in line with the disc and sweap all together down straight and back up in a slow motion.
I was wondering what they might eat as they don't seem inclined to grab at small fish roe or other food I introduce to them, so I put a few drops of invertabrate food next to them....we will see.
I put them in a 55gal local marine tank I have had running for a year or so.
