this picture is blurry, but really shows the coloration on his dorsal fin and ventral side.

Hi, If it has a black stripe through the eye it is a Chrysiptera Taupou. I've had one for several years.
If it does not have the black stripe it looks like a Pomacentrus Coelestis.
Thanks, Jennifer

easly its a fiji blue devil damsel or ive even seen normal male blue devil damsels that collor and i am saying this cuz i think that you wanted the name in lamens terms instead of scientific like Chrysiptera Taupou which is a fiji bluedevil damsel hope this helps

i believe it is the Pomacentrus Coelestis.
i was looking for the scientific name, thanks. funny, i looked on the wetwebmedia site, and saw this fish, but mine has alot more yellow- especially in the dorsal fin. i guess there's some local variation in coloration.
also, i've always known this fish by fiji blue devil, not neon damsel.
either way, he is a looong way from his home! hopefully he finds his new home satifactory.
thanks all, toonces
