i added a chunk of razor, helimeda, and few caulerpa taxifolia into my sump for RDP system.
Since then i noticed more rapid micro algae(diatoms) growth.
shouldn't they decrease?
can anyone tell me why????
thanks.

How long ago were they added? Have they hadÂ*enough time to take hold and begin to grow? Skip

Aren't diatoms fueld by silicates and caulerpa by nitrates and perhaps phosphates? The only time I've seen diatoms is when I've used tapwater rather than RO/DI water in the tanks.

fueled not fueld...sheesh, I hate it when I do that.

perhaps some of the caulerpa died off producing excess nitrates.
