Hey i am working on a circuit board here and I have a few questions, What are the following Letter short for. I know a few..

1- (D)- diode
2- (C)- Capacitor
3- (c)- They are veryslim.. most are yellowish in color and some blue?
4-(br)- looks like a diode but no stripe?
5-(r) - resistors
6-(cx)- a small gray square block?
7-(q)- small halfround tube...black?
8-(e) look like a transistor?

Looks like you got most of them correct. Here is what I think :

4) (br)sounds like a bridge rectifier but description dosen't sound correct. Could be resisto of some type/
3) (c) sounds very nuch like a ceramic capacitor.
7) (q) transistor. ( or could be an op amp but probably not)
8) (e) not enough information

Each company has it's own standards, but maybe I can guess:
c: Probably another type of capacitor, tantalum or ceramic.
br: Bi-directional Rectifier? (Bi-directional Zener diode used to protect against surges on power supplies and data pins that go off-board.)
q: Transistor
e: er.... transistor again? e can be used to denote the emitter of the transistor (d for drain, and g for gate as well sometimes.)

Got a picture, or part numbers?
