I just set up two Gemini pumps on a Red Sea Wavemaster Pro timer, and now that they have been running for about 8 hours, they are very hot. Is this normal? They are not so hot that I can't hold them in my hand, but they are fairly close.

I'd say thats normal, mine get pretty hot. What interval you have yours on? I have mine on/off for about 7 minutes each.

Mine are on and off ever 20 seconds or so. I am not sure if there is a setting on the wavemaster that lets me keep them on that long. I am glad to hear that that's normal though.

I would suggest you don't run it with such a short cycle. It's not designed for that. This is more of a real pump and not a powerhead. I think my 7 minute cycles are to short.

I may take it off the wavemaker altogether. I have a sea swirl on there right now, and the interaction of the sea swirl and the gemini may be enough.
