In a recent post, hughem mentioned caulerpa going sexual and clouding the water. What does this mean?

I do 24/7 lighting and had done a couple prunings, no iron supplement. But recently caulerpa is not doing as well near the input side with some turning white. What does this mean and how do I correct it?

Prune and remove the portion that has turned white. It has released its gametes (I think that's what it's called) and will soon die. That's what is meant by Caulerpa going sexual.

It can happen rather dramatically over a short time period. Last weekend, I woke up and found that all the Caulerpa in my 10-gallon nursery tank went sexual. I had to remove a half-gallon of it and toss it out.
