Hi,

I have a really old pair of Percula Clowns (22 years) that have been laying eggs on and off for over 20 years. I was wondering if anyone knew how long these fish can live or hear from anyone with other marine fish kept for a long time.

I have attached the picture of the female.

Giving you a bump, I'd like to see the answer. 22 years...that's amazing.

The longest I have heard of them living so far was 20 years.

Wow, you have me beat.

I have a pair that the female is 16 years old, the male is around 7 I think.

I have a batch of their eggs in my hatching tank as we speak!

Wow. Thats amazing. Not only the fact that they lived so long but the fact that you have provided these fish with suitable conditions for such a long time and due to this they are still living and reproducing. Well done.

PS it would be nice to see a few of your tank pics. Thank you.

Great job on keeping them healthy this long - LFS has a female and two males that are about 15 years old.

They're older than me!

I hope my owners take enough care of me to reach 22

i read somewhere that a male percula never get old just the female get old, i mean in a group or a couple, forexample, a female can live up to 25 years, when female dies, if another female comes and pair up w/ 25year old male percula, male again lives until the female dies, so the male percula just dies when he will become a female...

But dont know if true or not

I have to say, it appears that your proposed scenario is happening in my tank. The female seems to be aging but the male and the juvenile seem stuck in time and not aging. The adult male is still very sprite and young compared to the female.
