hello to all
ive recently gone from a 100 gal fowlr to a 150 gal fowlr jetstream system.
in my 100 i was running an aqua c urchin in a tidepool 2 sump that worked fine.
im now running the 150 with two tidepool 2 sumps.
ive got the ac urchin in one sump and i dont think its enough ??
the tidepools are tight on space so the biggest euroreef i can fit is an es-5-3.
i was hopeing that running two skimmers would be fine.
ive read different ratings for the es53 from different vendors.
any advice ???
150gal jetstream
2 tidepool II with in sump supreme 700gph (one in each sump)
(i rigged a 2 inch pvc siphon bridge between each TP as the jetstream overflows were not even)
75 lbs lr aprox
6 nemos
2 yellow tangs
1 purple tang
1 wrass
3 hippo tangs
2 gobies
1 fumanchu
1 tomato clown
2 serpent starfish
2 anenomes
in the TP2s i run carbon (black diamond) and poly filter pads.
i run a fluval 404 with phosphate remover only in all chambers.
i run a 25 watt uv
ive never had any diseases or problems of any kind (im knocking on wood)
the 100 gal was swapped over to the 150 in jul 03.
any thoughts on any of this would be appreciated.

Do you have enough room to run a external skimmer? You could run a AquaC EV-240 real easy if you have the space. Other than that, if you were happy with the urchin with the 100g, then just add another one to the other tidepool. If one was handling a 100g then two should be good enough for 200g I would think.

i want to keep everything in the cabinet.
how would i know if it wasnt handling it.
i would empty a half cup (urchin) a week.
ive seen the es5-3 euroreef rated for 40 gal and 90 to 200 gal
tks for your reply

Pluto, if I may comment, keep in mind that the Tidepool 2 are rated for 600 GPH each. In my case, I have a Jetstream 125 also with 2 Tidepool 2, I have connected the two together with a 2" pipe, and my Mag 18 pump sits in one of the TP. It took a while before I managed to get the overflow to run correctly but I am now satisfied and reassured that the setup will survive power outages without flooding the living room floor. :) I like this system. So far anyway.

Cheers!
