I was recently asked what I knew about breeding eels.

"..........uh...........nothing."

Can anyone recommend any literature on the subject? (If any even exists.) More specifically Hawaiian Dragons.

I was thinking about this aswell. Do they give live birth or lay eggs?

If you want to know what will happen then try it!

I thought that ribbon eels where extremely hard to keep alive. Is this true or am I going crazy?

There has been a huge thread over in Fish Only and Aggressive Fish Forum about a member that had a pair of Dragons breed very recently.

Hi:
eels are floating egg layers, the one which have bred in captivity are the snowflakes, zebras and chainlinks. Public aquarium (hence much bigger aquariums) have been successful w/ adult california green morays. These breeding events are uncommon but it will occur.

I had a breeding pair of zebras who monthly would intertwine and release a ton of eggs into my filtration.
as for dragon eels, i'm only familar w/ the member in the aggressive forum who has an pair which has recently bred.
lastly feel free to read about the above eels in reefkeeping magazine, dec2002 issue

Thanks everyone for your responses. I can't seem to navigate through this sight very well. (I am computer illiterate.) How do I find that thread about the breeding Dragons?
