I currently have a MD30 RLXT on my 60g going to a 508g wet/dry no bioballs, it seems to be slowing down. I'm going to take it apart & clean it this weekend. It was in use over 2 years maybe before I pu system. It's been up & running since Jan, no problems (and no cleaning).
No quick disconnects (hadn't found RC at that time) - went with what they had used.
So I'll be replumbing this with disconnects.
Also, has anyone cleaned one of these before? Tips?

Hopefully that will correct things. Its maybe close to 3 years old.
I'm pu a MD70 RLT for my 125g, but that is too much for the 60g (1500gph vs 960gph). I'm looking for a MD 55RLT, which would end up being a closed loop eventually (as a spare for now).
Figured I'd post now, just in case. Just want the Japanese motor.
Thanx

I'll put my Japanese MD40RLXT for sale but it had only 2 months of use so I am planning to ask $200 for it (new sells for $265 + ship). Just thought I'd let you know before I post it.

OK, thanx. I may be interested. That actually has a better gph then the one I have & the 55RLT. Plus it is rated for wet/dry recirc. And to clarify, I have a 5-8 gallon wet/dry, not a 508g !! :)
Thanx

Ok, thanx Scott. Let me know, I may get the 30 as a backup, and the 55 as a closed loop for the 125g.

Looks like I had some macro in the inlet. Time to replumb & install a strainer, a shut-off & some quick disconnects. And increase the inlet pipe to 1" or more.
Stil interested in the pumps tho, backup & a closed loop for the 125g.

Now I have to top off quite a bit, tank was lower without the extra flow, maybe 1.5g.
