Just for fun how much actual money did you spend on this hobby today. I'd like to see this going for a week or two to see how ridiculous the amount of money we all collectively spend on this hobby.

Me today

Bio Balls $7.00
Impeller $21.00

Total $30.00

I just spent $475 (with shipping) on a used Reef Concepts Aerofoamer 830 Protein Skimmer, Auto-Waste Collector cup and an Iwaki 70 RLT pump.

Post of Skimmer I purchased (http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=218185)

Retail value of the three items if new is $1020 without shipping so it seemed like a good deal to me!

That's not an everyday purchase though.

i was doing well budget wise for the last few months (honest)
but last week, I bought the IO sand from petsmart $70
today, my new MH light arrived $70
and today i ordered two Rose BTA's $200

so, does today's arrival count? if yes, i spent $270 today
if not, only $200

LHHFMF--now that is an amazing Protein Skimmer, and even more amazing is that Scott Merrill did not buy it!!!

Same, I almost wish I didn't track it, running about $20 gallon. I have to keep buying empty tanks to keep my $$ per gallon low.

I haven't spent anything in weeks. My unemployment ran out a couple of weeks ago and things are kinda tight till the new pay checks start rolling in. I'm sure my electric bill will be a big one for this month. *sits with winter coat on in the central AC*

Electric bill can not all be considered reef stuff, I say we don't count running costs, just actual purchases.

Keith

I with you on that!!

If we all considered running costs we'd have to get second of third jobs or sell our families (just kidding)
