If you search for hermits, you'll see a lot of different opinions. Some people love them and some people have really bad experiences with them.

Most seem to agree that the scarlet hermits are the most "reef-safe" choice.

I've been doing a lot of research on a clean-up crew too, because my tank will be delivered in the next week or so.

The critters that everyone seems to like are: fighting conch, cerith snails, nassarius snails, and stomatella/margarita snails. If anyone has any other recommendations, I'd love to hear them.

Some also have emerald crabs, but there are stories on here about them causing damage, so I don't think I'll be getting one.

I may get a small number of scarlet hermits (and make sure to put extra shells in for them).

Do a search on RC for "clean up crew" and you'll find a lot of opinions!

Good luck,

Crystal
