it is a small feather duster or tubeworm. They are a sign of a healthy tank and a good addition.:D

Thanks!! I am just so excited to have life in my tank. My husband got me out of bed to see the alive creature in the tank. Now we have hydroid jellyfish and featherduster worms!

Some time soon after the lights are out in you tank for a good 4 hours. You should go to your tank with a flashlight and look at the night time activity. It is amazing how all of the creepy critters come out after dark.
