I've been wanting to Pu a PH monitor & have been looking at the PinPoints. Who has them & what do you think?

Dont have the ph but i use the pinpoint salinity. It's great but it drains the battery like crazy. I am getting a DC adapter so I dont have to buy a battery everyday!

I have a pinpoint ph monitor for about 5 monhts now. No problems so far. I got it because of my Nilsen reactor. I calibrate it once a month but that takes only 5 minutes. I leave mine on all the time and have only replaced the battery once so far. I have heard of problems using the ac/dc power adapter for it though.

I've had my Pinpoint ph monitor for 6 months now. I use the ac/dc power adapter. I have been very pleased with the monitor and have never had any problems with it.

I have read post on fluctuating PH readings using the AC/DC adapters. Mostly from people using controllers.
Heres one thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=206082&highlight=pinpoint+AND+adapter (http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=206082&highlight=pinpoint+AND+adapter)

I've had my Pinpoint monitor for over a year now. I love it.
Don't see why I ever went without it.
I used to replace batteries once a month, then I finally plugged in the adapter. No problems.
Stock up on calibration fluids.

It is possible that the ph monitor does not use as much power as the salinity monitor. But in either case, just get a DC adapter ($7) and you'll be fine.

As far as ph, I confess: I've never tested the ph in my tank!

OK, call out the pH police....tho mine has been pretty solid. But my old tank did crash pH at one point - down to 7 somethin. It can happen.

I have a controller, but it's not necessary (remnant from fw planted tank) A monitor is plenty. I had one pinpont monitor also, but got one drop of water on it and it cr@pped out on me. put it far away from the tank in a hermetically sealed container for best results.

I really like mine. Running on batteries. Been about 1 month and still ticking. Batteries mean 1 less wire and crap to keep track of.

I like that.
