OK, I have to get rid of at least 1 tank since I am looking at the 300g. I have a 110g, I stripped the old silicone out & I am in the (going to start) process of resealing it. Once resealed I will do a leak check.

Price now unsealed $55 w/2 tubes GE silicone

Measures 4' x 30' tall, x 18" front to back

If no-one is interested I will repost after leak check.

or I may selling to a guy at work (he's going to let me know) who has an 8' Boa in a 55g!!
This would not be a show tank, unless maybe you built it into the wall (to hide trim). I'll check tonite for scratches.

I thought I had some pics at work, must be at home

Dave I was just at All things Fishy in Marborough.
They have a nice 300 acrylic for sale $1190.00

It has one corner overflow and is drilled on one end for a closed loop.

You could easily add another corner overflow.

I wish times were different for me or I would own it

Thanks, I'll check it out. The one I was looking at had 2 pumps included - but 3 years old. I think I'd rather have new..
plus metal stand, but again I'd rather build it into a wall

Do you know if it is 24" tall or 30"? spec doesn't really tell..
Think I'll give them a call

oh, FYI on the 110g if anyone is interested - it is in one piece, I just wanted to reseal the inside as it had a leak

Scuba Dan, if your new tank is higher than 24", suggest you use 400W'ers espec. if keeping SPS's,Bob

aren't 250 HQI's relatively close to the light output of 400's?

Bob, didn't even notice the name.
I know someone in the club has a light meter. It would be nice to form our own database of bulbs, PAr etc at diff depths.
the 250's I have are driven by HQI ballasts, but the bulbs are not DE.

The only tank I have that is 30" high is the 110g, which I had planned on putting in a 6" DSB to bring to back to 24" depth

I prefer 24" depth, 30-36 front to back

unless I'm diving, then 130' max depth :)

Well this is safe, going to LFS and I left my wallet at home...

Gee Dave, 30 foot tall tanks and Hermit carbs, You really have some unusual stuff down there. Try to decompress when ending the dives...;)

Well I needed a tank big enough for the 6' mushroom,

Scott, yes the 250HQI are close but the light distribution is, of course, a little better spread-out in the 400's,Bob

Scuba Dave, interesting suggestion. Maybe a median could be developed with sveral other reefers! Bob

Dave is this still available?

Still available possibly - I have a co-worker who's brother may want it for his 8' Boa. But 1st one who wants it gets it.
Are you located in NY? I have some pics at work but can't resize enough to meet 50k limit. If you send me an E-mail I will send you pics.
The Oak trim is cracked on corners - but not the tank. The pics I took are before I cleaned up the tank. He had globbed silicone on the outside & inside trying to fix a leak. I have taken the extra silicone off & I am going to reseal as soon as I get a chance.
I was going to use it as a sump/frag tank possibly.

I saw that bad boy last night!! I'd love to have it... except....

My wife pointed out that it is big enough to sleep in, and could accomodate a porta-potty which is good...cause she'd make me move into it!!!

;) Ah well... maybe next Christmas *L*

Yeah, I've been looking at a couple 300's. The wife gave the go ahead, but I want one 30" front to back & 28-32" tall. About a 340 maybe. Still looking, and now after discussion on here about acrylic I'm thinking glass.

Could be used eventually as a permanent resting place!!
