I have what was sold as a purple linkia but is (I think) Tamaria Stria. After what I have been reading about them it seems many people don't like them anyway... Anyway he got injured in a "cleaner magnet" incident and now has a rather deep wound on one arm. Is there any way to treat this (like iodine or something) or should I just see what happens. I have had stars heal, but this is a pretty deep cut/puncture. Sorry, too small for my old digital camera to get a worthwhile picture.

I would just let nature take it's course, if your water quality is good to begin with the starfish will eventually heal itself. You dont want to overdose with something like Iodine (easy to do since it's hard to test for) and I'm not sure how much of a benefit additional Iodine would have?

I wouldn't worry, I have heard that sometimes if one of a starfish's arms are too badly damaged, the arm drops off and a new arm is regrown.
