Rust on a mag 7

I was messing around under there and with a flashlight saw a reflection of rust on my mag pump. It is on the front under the intake. Hard spot to see so who knows how long it has been there but:
1 bad? take it out?
2 leave until I get a new one?
3 remove and clean?
4 anyone else have this happen?

It is not coming from a screw and is only 6 months old.
Better pump ?

CLEAN IT ...
You can take the pump out, remove the screws and soak them in distilled vinegar. While you're at it, take off the cover soak the impeller and use vinegar to clean the impeller well from any salt or calcium build up as well... [in fact, this should be done every 4 to 5 months on any powerhead or pump... as buildup in the impeller will decrease pump / ph efficiency ]

I have 3 Mag 7 and one mag 9.5 ... in later models they chose to coat the screws with plastic.
