sump size

I am planning a sump 36 x 14 x 14 h.

Planning 3 baffles in the middle. sponge at the return end.

question?
do i leave more area in the skimmer area or the return area.
placement of my baffles.
if i get a bigger skimmer area will this reduce the number of microbubbles.
down side is the evaporation side - the return side.

what do you recommend.

IMO I would make the return area as big as possible. If you evaporate a lot of water, this will make a difference between filling it up in hrs "vs" day(s).
