Hi All,

I've recently come into a bunch of free glass from a relative who had to replace a rather large window. I also have another source for a good quantity of tempered glass. The problem is the larger piece of glass is not tempered and looks to be only about 1/8" to 3/16" thick, and the smaller tempered glass is 36" in length maximum.
Heres the question: assuming I need to go with the thicker tempered glass, what would be the largest size I can go without going too deep and needing some 12000k MH which I can't afford? I have found layouts of 36x18x18 (50g), 36x18x24(65g), and 36x24x35(130g).
ANyone have any suggestions? I definitely want to go bigger than my current 30g.

Thanks!
Troy S.

I've read that you probably don't want to use tempered glass since one needle ***** can cause a catastrophic shattering. Even though they are rated higher in strength, it is more susceptible to shattering when a sharp object hits it.

Take that FWIW.
