Looking for DIY for a Becket skimmer for 1000-1500 Gallons of water.

just look at some of the larger skimmer plans on here, just do a search for beckett and upszie as you need, just change the 6 inch diameter tubing you see on most to 8" make it pretty tall and possible use dual injectors, the shape and design of the skimmer shouldnt change just how big it is

Maximum tank size for a skimmer is a large debate... but here is the largest Beckett style DIY that I have seen: Monster Beckett (http://archive.reefcentral.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131865)

There are some other larger skimmers around, but they were air aspiration injected I believe.
