I have my nice DIY auto top off unit thanks to Zephrant, and my brand new DIY Nilsen Kalk reactor. After much cussing and even more bleeding, I finally got the 1/4 inch tube run through the floors and walls to the tank upstairs. Betweem the auto top off solenoid and the RO unit I put a T in the line for making water change water and to use for top off for my daughters FO tank.
The thing that I didn't think about is what would happen if the auto top off solenoid opened while I had the T'd off line running. It sucked raw Kalk out of the bottom of the reactor and into my daughter's tank. Fortunately I made her stay right with it while it topped off, and she shut it off as soon she saw cloudy water coming out.
Just one more thing to think about.
