hey folks i wana build my self a calcium reactor and i need to know what size my reactor should be im not sure even if theres a specific size any how my main tank is a35 gl and my sump is 10gl
can any body piont me in the right direction i have the basic concept from other diy sites

From what I have gather for those selling calcium reactors, it appears that a lot of the basic sizes will hold 8 lbs of media.

If you use something like 4.5 inch acrylic tubing, somewhere around 22-24" will do. If you use 6" acrylic tubing, that's somewhere between 13"-16".

A lot of the time, calcium reactor size and height specifically has more to do with the height of your stand than anything else. Considering the CO2 is mixed continuosly in the reaction chamber, most designs will work with most heights if you get even distribution of water flow throughout the media.

thanx for the input ive tons of diy plans on cr none that inv seen
specify sizrs for small tanks im one of tose people that thinks biggers always better and ill build one anmd kill off my tank

I don't know if you have looked at my design. but it holds 16 lbs of media and I am running it on a 33 gallon tank. All you need to do is dial them back. That way as well if you upgrade your system you don't need to upgrade the Ca reactor.
