Hi, I was wondering what store bought UPS backups will run one or if not both of my GENX/MAK4's during a power outage? At least untill I get home and can start my Coleman Generator?

What sites sell these are far as the larger ones. I can use one for a computer, but I don't think these will run one of these pumps for more than 15 to 20 minutes. I would like to get about a hour or more from it.

Looking for a little added security with my reef! :)

Thanks, John

you can either buy one (http://www.etechwarehouse.com/ProductInfo.asp?v=D1&idProduct=12600994)
or make one (http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64918)

ive heard that they dont recommend upcs for running motors... isnt a pump a kinda a motor in such that they both use magnetic fields in order to run??

I do not have all that big of a UPS but I do run my powerheads off of it and it works fine. I am looking to get a bigger UPS and then I will try it on my pump.
