what is best for my DIY sump/fuge

should I build my sump/fuge of acrylic (never work with acrylic before), or would it be best to use my old 20g and silicone baffles in.

Let me give a little more info. I like the sump/fuge pics from '' The Locust'' in the photo gallery. I would like to get it done at a low cost, and a little afraid of glueing acrylic. I would appriciate any input from anyone who has built a sump/fuge before i get started.
