I'm getting ready to setup my wet/dry and need some recommendations for a good submersible return pump. Also, what size should I get? It's for a 55 gallon tank setup.

If you know of a good/cheap online fish store to get the pump, that would also be appreciated.

If I were in your situation...I would go with a Mag pump. Depending on your "head height" and number/size of your overflows, maybe a Mag 7 or Mag 9.5.

For online ordering...you can try Aquatic Technology.

Mag 7. It is really quiet and does a good job (I have one on my skimmer).

I really like the Sen pumps. Sen 700 costs about $70 (I got mine at www.oceanencounter.com) and will give you 10-20% more gph than a mag 7. I have two returning the corner overflows on my 180 and a sen 900 running my skimmer.

I have a mag 9.5 that i will sell for $70. It has never been out of the box. I ended up going with a mag12 instead.

I've used several different mags. Never had a problem with any of them.
