Howdy folks! This is my first post (woo-woo) so if I screw it up, please forgive me. I am in the process of setting up my first reef tank - 150G with 200-250 lbs of live rock, 3-4 inch DSB. I want to do this right the first time so I have read >100 threads on refugium/sump design (many thanks to melev and 3twenty5 for design ideas and tips.) I will attach my design plan (view from above) and would appreciate any comments or advice. I have a few specific questions.
1) With the water level in the return at 10 inches and the refugium draining from height of 16 inches, will this create a loud waterfall effect and generate a lot of bubbles? Would bulkheads be a better way to go rather than teeth?
2)What is the quietest way to drain water from the overflows to the sump/refugium?
3) How do you estimate the flow rate from the tank overflows?
Thanks in advance for any replies!
