Skimmer teeth on an internal overflow

How deep and at what width should I have my strainer teeth made on top of my internal overflows? I am having a local plastics company build them for $30 a piece.

I will have dual overflows with sandpipes that exit the main through the bottom of the tank through 1" bulkheads.

You can glue in some slotted pieces to hold eggcrate, or 1/4" mesh. easy, and it comes right out for cleaning. Usually, the teeth get broken and you end up putting mesh over it later.

That would depend on what water flow you desire, and how high up the teeth you want your normal water level.
