what to do???

i have a 29 gal reef (very new) that i would like to diy a 10 gal refuguim out of an used 10 gal tank, my problems are that i have no space under the tank due to my w/d filter so the 10 gal will be on a table next to the tank along with the beginnings of a 10gal nano and a qt tank that i am setting up
i will only be using the refug. to lower tha nitates ect as i dont have a very good skimmer and i have a ugf w/cc in tank right now( i know i know i will chg that when i am able to) also i want the extra gals to expan my h2o volumn too.
can i have the refuguim and the nano and main tank all hooked togeter? and i am not sure how to do the h2o into ref. from main tank and back again, i may be able to use u tubes from refug. to nano and pump back out of and back to main tank
any ideas or suggestions would be helpfull

Plumb it like you would a sump. You'll need an overflow box on the tank, gravity feeding to the fuge. Put a small pump in the fuge to pump the water back to the tank.
