Sigh the life of a newbie reefer... Well here goes!

I have a 60 gallon tank:

Tank setup as of now:
- 1 Return line to Refug (not hooked up yet) 6ft away from pump
- 1 Return line to tank (SCWD hooked up) 4ft away from pump
- RIO 2500 748 gph
- 2 internal powerheads

I hate my setup as of now! I get great flow and turnover but I hate the internal powerheads and who knows for sure wth is gonna happen when I hook up the refug!...

Would it be possible to run the following setup with my current equipment?

- 1 Return line to Refug (hooked up) 6ft away from pump
- 2 Return lines to tank (SCWD's hooked up) 4ft away from pump
- RIO 2500 748 gph
- remove internal powerheads (hate the way they look)

Will my RIO be able to push this?

Should I screw it and go with a Mag-Drive 24 (2400 gph)?
and even if I did that (get the Mag-Drive)would it push the system I want to hookup?

Thanks in advance as always folks :) This is how my setup looks so far thanks to all your help :) (just finished cycle)

Wait!! Before you plug in anything, esp. the rio, read these:

Rio's are notorious for being a tank killer, so be careful. Also, include a GFCI and grounding probe for your own safety.

I agree - I'd rethink your pump choice. You'd be much better off with a Mag pump as you mentioned.

I switched to using Iwaki & Mags Both are very nice pumps shouldnt have problems. I was running rio's till someone on here pointed out the two threads above. Got rid of them and switched to Mags
