Can this plant be completely under water or does the top of the plant need to be out of the tank? I am thinking of adding Marine Plants into my main tank to take up access nutirents, and I like the look of plants. What about the Shaving Brush Plant (Penicillus sp.)? Anyone with experience with these?
Mangroves grow with their roots submerged and most of the top out of water. A hob refugium with it's own lighting would be appropriate.
Moving thisto the marine plants forum where you'll get better feedback,

Agu's quite right about the mangrove needing to rise up out of the water. Pencillus is a very nice looking algae that lives totally submerged ;)
