I am picking up a tank for my daughters room and would like to put a single anemone and a pair of clowns in it. They would be the only inhabitants, save a cleanup crew. Is there a species of anemone that will host ocellaris clowns that has lower light requirments? The tank is about 20" deep. Would a single 175w MH do the trick? Thanks.

what K is the MH bulb? 175W should be plenty. and what size is the tank?

I am still planning this. I don't even have the light fixture yet. This is a 30 gallon hex. I was thinking 10k for the bulb.

I would say that is more than enough 175/30=5.8W per gallon. That might even be too much for just a fish and anenome. You could probably use 2 65W PC one actinic and one 10000k. I think flourescents are more efficient in converting electricity to light than MH, and they will also cut down on heat and electric use, and they are cheaper. with this setup you could just run with the actinic and no daylight at night and in the morning. Although you will not get the cool shimmer effect with PC, it will save you money in the long run.
