I am in the process of seting up a 90Gal SPS tank. Currently this is the lighting setup I have:

2 x 250Watt HQI AB 10,000K
2 x 54Watt 03 Actinic T5s.

I have a spare 150Watt Electronic ballast And would like to add a 20,000K bulb to enhance SPS coloration, but there are 4 different bulbs available.

1. Radium 150Watt HQI 20,000K

2. Ushio 150Watt HQI 20,000K

3. Hellolights 150Watt XDE 20,000K

4. Iwasaki 150Watt SE 50,000K

I would really appreciate feedback on witch bulb I should use!!

Do a search on this subject your going to get mixed opinons on

the subject but I would stay with either radium or ushio. As for

the xm or the iwasaki I dont think your going to make a bad

choice expessially if your just using them for viewing pleasure

This and similar gets asked every day so do a search there are

alot of opinons on the subject.:)

I've heard some bad things on the XDE. The radium will be quite dim on your tank, I didn't even know they have 150 watt radiums.

Ushios are a nice crisp white, I can't detect any blue in them. Iwasaki's look like someone ****ed in your tank.

If you want growth, go with the IWasaki. If you want a nicer color than that and decent growth, go for ushio. If you want nice coloration of corals but slower growth, go with radiums, I don't even know about the XDE.
