I have 4 compact flourescents from Custom Sea Life installed in my canopy & 1 of them wont work because the on/off switch is all coroded from evaporation. Does anyone have a solution for preventing this? I had glass covers over the water. Was this from lack of cleaning that switch somehow. I don't want this to happen to my other 3.

The switched seized up in the off position & I'm going to try to get replace the switch without having to replace the while retrofit kit of $60.

I dont know how you feel about diy "do it yoursef" or not but I would hard wire them meaning directly to some timmers I bought mine at home d and they were like 4 bucks you probaly could run all those on one timmer but I would put them on two and then they come on the same time go off the same time everyday.

The switch or the timmer has corrosion on it. If the switch has

corrosion on it cut it out and wire nut the wires back together

I always wrap the wire and solder it and shrink wrap but wire

nuts are good. It should say on the wire its probaly 14/3 wire

meaning 14 gauge 3 wire white, black, green. If it is the timmer I

would extend the wire and get the timmer out of the high humity

area!
