Is it safe to use the plastic tubeing at HD.

You mean the PVC piping? Yes, a lot of people use it. I would rinse it out first though, to get any dust that might be in it.

Or do you mean the plastic flexible tubing? If so, then HD is a fine place to buy that..... any type is fine. Most people prefer clear so they can see the water going through it.... some people like the braided tubing if there is a strong pump attached to it....

I agree with bdr127. I myself like the clear tubing, it allows me to see things going through it and the algae growth that might be building up.
