Does anyone know anything about the quality of haitian live rock?
Theres a guy in my area that's selling off some of his at a price lower than the lfs. I haven't seen it yet but from what i've read and heard, fiji live rock seems to be the best.

Thanks for the great info and comments you guys/gals give to beginners like me

I brought in some Haitian liverock for a Caribbean biotope tank I am doing and was pretty pleased. It is denser than rock of Pacific origin (Fiji, Tonga, etc.), but not nearly as bad as much of the aquacultured rock coming out of the Caribbean.

Have you every heard the phrase, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that follows with live rock, some rock I like and other don't, its really up to you what will ultimately look good in your tank or not. I would say if this guy is giving you a good deal, then go for it. I only have marshalls and fiji so I really can't comment on the porosity or density of haitain rock.
