Hey all,

I noticed something really cool last week and now I just discoved another. Two baby Tiger Trouchus snails. They are both about a 1/4 inch long. The first one I noticed in my main tank and the other I just found in my quarentine tank that has rock from my main tank's sump and has been set up since December but have switched rock between both tanks several times since then.

I added 6 adult trochus snails in early November as well as 7lbs of fresh Fiji rock, Florida live sand and a few corals, all from Paragon Aquatics. The only other things I've added since then were from Butt.doc's tank, seed algae from Todd and a leather from Pet Advantage. I've also added fish but assume small snails didn't come from them.

I've had Trochus snails spawn for me before but read that they have a planktonic stage and had never seen them in my previous 38 gallon, but had seen other snails do fine, especially strombus. Did my snails get lucky and produce offspring or did these little snails hitchhike in on the new rock, etc?

I'm ruling out these snails being from my previous 38 gal since not many snails survived the meltdown.

Any thoughts?
