Hey guys, is this stuff really worth it?! it says it does a lot of decent stuff but i'm not sure i believe it... it's really expensive for only 5 lbs!

I use the inexpensive alternative, Mineral Mud, by CaribSea, which costs roughly $20 for 10lbs. It seems to work fine, although I'm not so sure that an aragonite based sand bed in the fuge wouldn't work just as well. I couldn't convince myself that $70 for 10lbs of dirt was worth the expense- seems a little fishy to me.

I go to Mexico, San Felipe (gulf of mexico, south of california) a lot and what I find there is the MUD. It's on the sea floor and tons of them when the tide goes out.

Can I use it as Miracle Mud?

I used 2 parts Mineral Mud and 1 part Miracle mud in my reugium. I felt like a sucker buying the Miracle Mud, but couldn't help myself. So I cheaped out and just used one container. I think the big deal is the iodine that slowly leaches out.

don't waste your money. i put Mineral mud in my fuge and if i were to do it over again, i'd just use south down. a lot cheaper!
