Carbon in and out

I understand the pros and cons of using carbon. But is it OK if I put a bag of carb in the sump for a day or two and then, rather than throw it out, let it dry and use it again in say a few weeks? Reapeating the process maybe three or four times and THEN replacing the carbon with new stuff?
